Atlas Copco Wins Drilling Rigs Orders for New Road Tunnel Project in India

Atlas Copco (India) Ltd. Construction & Mining Technique has received orders for underground drilling rigs from Leighton Contractors India Pvt. Ltd. and Navayuga Engineering Company Limited, valued MEUR 11.

The equipment will be used to construct road tunnels for the Srinagar-Jammu highway project in Jammu and Kashmir, India. "We are proud to win these prestigious orders for the new road tunnel project.

They show that Indian customers have a high level of confidence in Atlas Copco's products and trust in our service team," says Björn Rosengren, Business Area President of Atlas Copco Construction and Mining Technique. The National Highway Authority of India has awarded the highway project to two of Atlas Copco's customers, Leighton Contractors India Pvt. Ltd. part of Leighton Holdings - Australia's largest project development and contracting group - and based out of Delhi, and Navayuga Engineering Company Limited based out of Hyderabad. The orders are booked in the third quarter, 2010. Delivery for Navayuga Engineering Company Limited has started in September 2010 and for Leighton Contractors India Pvt. Ltd. it is scheduled in December 2010.
