Tara Minerals Corp. is pleased to announce that a drill program to define the veins at depth and to map them underground has begun. The short-term priority for the program is to further delineate the exposed veins.
In addition, ongoing exploration work has resulted in the uncovering of new mineralized structures and the discovery of additional historical workings. Assays from the mineralized portions of the structures are consistent with the average 0.5 oz/t gold found in the priority veins.
Mr. Steve Eady, Chief Geologist, stated, "The veins are consistent in gold grade and the gold is recoverable. Now it is a matter of following each of the veins at surface, understanding their shape and geology, and prioritizing them for delineation to gauge tonnage potential. We are in a geologically attractive mining district as shown by the work being carried out by the partnership of Midas Gold Corp., Franco-Nevada Corporation and Teck Resources Limited to the south. We have community and regulatory support for production and are making progress towards this goal."
The Ponderosa Project consists of 6,721 acres of both patented and unpatented mining claims in central Idaho, USA. The optioned claims include previously mined veins with historic sampling of the exposed outcrops averaging 0.5 oz/t gold.
