Phoenix Analysis & Design Technologies (PADT) and M-Tech Industrial are highlighting the use of the Flownex Simulation Environment software tool in the mining industry by exhibiting and presenting at the 2014 Society of Mining Engineering (SME) Meeting and Exhibit.
From its early beginnings, Flownex SE has been a powerful tool for mining engineers who wish to model thermal-fluid systems in mining including water, ventilation, compressed air, and slurry systems. Companies like AngloGold Ashanti and Anglo American use Flownex SE to analyze mining subsystems in a virtual world in order to achieve maximum potential and savings.
For the 2014 SME conference, being held in Salt Lake City, Utah from February 23-26, 2014, PADT will be presenting the Flownex SE solutions for mining from booth 2231 in the exhibit hall. In addition, engineers from M-Tech Industrial (the authors of Flownex SE), will be presenting two papers that they submitted with the help of North-West University of South Africa, and AngloGold Ashanti that give specific examples on the effective application of Flownex SE to mining simulation:
- Combined System Simulation of Cooling and Ventilation for the World`s Deepest Mine
- Energy-Optimization of Underground Mine Services Using Simulation
Attendees are encouraged to visit booth 2231 to talk with PADT and M-Tech Industrial technical staff members about their mining simulation needs and how Flownex SE can be applied to optimize the performance and savings. Those who are not able to attend can learn more by viewing two videos covering usage of Flownex SE for mining, downloading the attached mining case studies, or reviewing the mining brochure. As always, PADT will also be available to discuss the use of ANSYS, Inc.’s simulation suite in mining applications with a focus on our use of ANSYS FLUENT for several of our mining customers. We will also be presenting simulation consulting, HPC computing solutions, and other products and services that PADT offers.
In connection with the conference, a free introductory training class is being held at PADT's Denver, Colorado office on March 24-25, 2014. The goal of the two-day class is to train users in the application of Flownex SE on a variety of thermal-fluid systems. Attendees will also receive a 45 day license, enabling them to apply what they have learned on their own problems. Registration information can be found here.
Flownex SE delivers technology that enables users to study how systems will behave in the real world where fluid and heat transfer are the driving factor. The software relays the overall effect of changing specific properties on components, allowing engineers to extensively examine all possible variations in the design and optimization of fluid systems. On a global scale, leading organizations apply the Flownex Simulation Environment to achieve maximum potential of their systems both in design and operational states. By delivering fast, reliable, and accurate system and subsystem-level simulation, companies are able to set themselves apart from their competitors by allowing solving their engineering challenges quickly and more robustly, through the use of this cutting-edge simulation technology. The global demand for Flownex has shown exponential growth over the last few years, and as more organizations adopt the technology the developers continuously strive to push the boundaries in system simulation. Recent sales in the US to Aerospace, Oil & Gas, Turbomachinery, Mining, and Solar Power companies have contributed to the recent global growth of Flownex Simulation Environment users.
