Rockland Minerals Corp. (TSX VENTURE:RL) reports that the helicopter-borne Time-Domain Electromagnetic and Magnetic survey on its 100% optioned Retty Lake Cu-Ni-PGE property near Schefferville, Quebec has provided new, high-resolution geophysical data, which will greatly assist in defining exploration targets.
The survey was flown in August 2010 by Geo Data Solutions, Inc. of Laval, Québec over the Rockland Retty Lake claims, consisting of a North Block and a South block, for a total of 1,767 line-kilometres.
Rockland is earning a 100% interest in the property from E.D. Black. The property consists of 210 mineral claims in the Labrador Trough.
George Sanders, P.Geo, director and senior consulting geologist for Rockland Minerals, states "This survey greatly enhances our targeting along the base of the favourable middle peridotite unit -- the ore-maker at the Blue Lake cluster of Cu-Ni-PGE sulfide lenses (Blue Lake, Centre and Pogo deposits). With the fine detail from the modern, GPS-navigated, 100-metre helicopter flight-line spacing, and the enhanced signal from the Time Domain Electromagnetic method, we've got never-before seen views of the conductors, extending along strike, from the Blue Lake sulfide lenses onto the Rockland claims. We will concentrate on places where the electrical qualities of these mapped conductors are at their best, and integrate this data with surface geochemical sample data, and structural data, to guide our drilling planned for next field season".
