Anaconda Mining Inc. ("Anaconda" or "the Company") - is pleased to announce that on Monday April 14, 2014, it will host an innovative exploration workshop at the Johnson Geo Centre in St. John's, NL (the "Exploration Summit"), focused on the Company's 6,000-hectare land package located on the Ming's Bight Peninsula, which is part of the greater Baie Verte Peninsula.
The Exploration Summit will be attended by 24 participants who will discuss their relevant experiences, both regionally and internationally, and new technology that could benefit the Company in optimizing its exploration efforts. The Research and Development Corporation of Newfoundland and Labrador (the "RDC") has been assisting Anaconda by providing organizational support to the workshop.
The goal of the Exploration Summit is to help identify key geologic features and exploration tools that will advance the Company's known gold targets. Anaconda has invited individuals from the academic world and from industry who have relevant experience and expertise as it relates to the geology and gold mineralization around the Pine Cove project. The participants include individuals that have "on-the-ground" experience at Pine Cove and the surrounding area as well as those with international experience in similar geological environments and gold deposits. The expertise of the individuals varies across many geologic disciplines including structural geology, geochemistry and geophysics.
The Company anticipates that the Exploration Summit will help define potential new exploration targets. In addition, with the assistance of the RDC, Anaconda will attempt to develop research topics that could benefit the Pine Cove project and the Baie Verte / Ming's Bight area.
President and CEO, Dustin Angelo, stated, "We are very excited and optimistic about the opportunities that could come from the Exploration Summit. Never before has such an endeavor been contemplated in Newfoundland and Labrador. It is this kind of innovative thinking and coordination with academia, the RDC and other parts of government that will help Anaconda grow and continue to be a successful junior gold mining company. We appreciate the interest and contribution by all of those involved with bringing the Exploration Summit to fruition."
