Westhaven Ventures Inc. reports that it has completed a high resolution airborne magnetic survey on its Ben property.
Additionally, the Company has staked 9,503 hectares approximately 23 kilometres northeast of Williams Lake, B.C. and 20 kilometres south of its 15,322 hectare Ben property, located midway between the Mount Polley and Gibraltar Mines. Westhaven now has a total of 24,825 hectares in the prospective Cariboo Mining District.
Westhaven recently completed a high resolution airborne magnetic survey on the Ben property. A total of 851 line kilometers of magnetic data were flown covering the entire property. The survey was successful in outlining magnetic anomalies that directly relate to drill hole BN13-03, which intercepted 70.6 metres of 0.31% Nickel and 0.012% Cobalt. The survey outlined numerous zones for follow up as the magnetic serpentine host to the nickel has been traced in excess of 10 kilometres. The area has little rock exposure so follow up will involve both magnetic and IP (Induced Polarization) surveys.
Upcoming Plans for Ben
- A prospecting and soil sampling program has begun and results are expected within 3 weeks
- Ground geophysics (Induced polarization and magnetic surveys) are expected to commence within two weeks
- Drilling to commence shortly after ground geophysics
Newly Staked Ben South Property
Furthermore, after a recently completed regional prospecting and sampling program unearthed nickel anomalies that position on strike with the Ben property to the north, the Company staked 9,503 hectares approximately 23 kilometres northeast of Williams Lake, B.C. and 20 kilometres south of its Ben property. Gren Thomas, President and CEO, of Westhaven states, "This new area, we've called Ben South, has similar geology to the Ben Property. Recent grab sample assays of 0.23% nickel are evidence this area hosts nickeliferous serpentine similar to the recent discoveries on the Ben property."
Upcoming Plans for Ben South
- Prospecting, mapping and sampling programs
- Fly a high resolution airborne magnetic survey over entire property
- Ground geophysics to help delineate further drill targets
