CAP Mineria Places Order for Siemens’ Electrical Equipment

The Siemens Drive Technologies division has been commissioned by CAP Mineria to supply the entire electrical system for the Cerro Negro Norte iron ore mine in the Chilean Atacama region. The plant, situated about 700 km north of Santiago de Chile, is designed for an annual output of about 4 million metric tons of iron ore concentrate.

Lara Announces Vertical’s Filing of Curionópolis Iron Project Final Exploration Report with Brazilian DNPM

Lara Exploration Ltd. has been advised by Vertical Mineração Ltda. ("Vertical") that it has filed a Final Exploration Report with the Brazilian Department of Mines ("DNPM") for the Curionópolis Iron Project in northern Brazil. The report details the exploration work, resource calculations and preliminary economic studies and is the first step in the process for Vertical to apply for a full Mining License for the project.

Olkon Mine to Replace Multiple Rotary Dryers with Metso’s Automated System

Metso will supply OAO Severstal with a complete rotary drying system for their iron ore plant upgrade project at the Olkon mine in Olenegorsk, Russia. The high-capacity single-line system will replace multiple existing rotary dryers. Metso’s delivery also includes a modern automation system, which will enable tighter control of the process. The value of the order will not be disclosed.

Sierra Iron Ore to Send Ore Samples for Metallurgical Testing to China

Sierra Iron Ore made an announcement that it plans to collect 550 kilos of iron ore sample from the Veinte Zone, which is located in the El Creston property. The sample will then be sent to China for metallurgical testing.
