Beaufield Resources Inc. is pleased to announce that they have mobilized a diamond drill to its 100% owned, 12,915 hectares, Urban property to undertake an initial summer drill program. Beaufield is planning exploration to evaluate its Urban holdings in detail.
The drilling will first focus on a series of targets on the Macho block, including the Lucky 7 zone where In December 2015, Beaufield announced results from a fall drill program, where drill hole BU-15-07 intersected 7.86 g/t gold over 6 metres near surface (news release, December 8th, 2015). The hole was drilled to test a 1,400 metre long strong induced polarization (IP) anomaly identified earlier in the year, where surface sampling had assayed 20.0 g/t gold, 54.9 g/t silver and 2.43% copper in a grab sample (news release, August 1st, 2014). Four drill holes in this area are designed to test the potential extensions of the mineralization laterally and at depth. Other targets include untested geophysical targets located in areas of favorable geology.
On the Rouleau block, drilling will concentrate on geophysical targets and potential extensions of mineralization identified at surface. Drilling will target previously untested strong induced polarization anomalies located in the southern portion of the block, some of which are associated with known gold and copper mineralized structures.
A second phase drill program is planned to begin in August on the Zone 18 gold area. Geologica Groupe-Conseil Inc. "Geologica", an independent Val d'Or based consulting firm, was commissioned in April to provide a comprehensive compilation and evaluation study of the Rouleau gold deposit (Zone 18) and the surrounding gold zones on its Urban property. Zone 18 and adjoining Zones 17 and 14 were discovered in the 1980s. The study by Geologica will outline a detailed program to evaluate the gold potential of these zones and will plan of a follow-up drill program.
Beaufield's flagship Urban property is centrally located within the Urban-Barry gold camp, near infrastructure and is easily accessible by road. The Urban-Barry area is one of the most active gold exploration camps in Quebec with many companies operating in the area including Oban Mining, Bonterra Resources, Urbana Corporation and Metanor Resources.
