Arcus Development Group has commenced an airborne magnetometer survey at its Dawson Gold project area. The airborne survey will cover around 7,800 line kilometres having line spacing of 100m with tie lines at every 1,000 m.
The company will complete the survey by mid-April 2011 and anticipates data interpretation by early May 2011.
Precision GeoSurveys of Vancouver, B.C is contracted by Arcus to perform the survey by a Bell 206B helicopter provided with a nose-mounted cesium vapor magnetometer. Condor Consulting of Lakewood, Colorado will execute the data interpretation.
The gold mineralization in the White gold area is found to be hydrothermal in nature and structurally controlled, based on the results obtained so far from Arcus and the other companies. Arcus performs airborne survey to discover structural gold features in the Dawson project and to prioritize objectives for a thorough soil sampling and ground-based geophysical investigation before 2011 drill testing.
The location of Dawson Gold project is in the White Gold area about 100 kilometres south of Dawson City, Yukon. The project encompasses the Touleary, Dan Man, Green Gulch and Shamrock claim blocks, which are under option from ATAC Resources. The four claim blocks jointly have 1,348 mineral claims and cover around 28,000 hectares. The Green Gulch and Touleary claims are sited directly next to Kinross' White Gold property, whereas the Dan Man claims are situated immediately north of Kaminak's Coffee claims.
