Helio Resource has updated on the exploration at its Damara Gold Project (DGP) in Namibia located 25km-130km east of Navachab gold mine of AngloGold-Ashanti (AGA).
The company has begun the 5,000m drill program at Gold Kop Target on the Otjimbojo license, which is one of DGP’s four licenses. Helio has described numerous high-priority targets at DGP through the latest geophysical surveys. This drilling is a part of a delineated 10,000m program. Helio has completed the first diamond drilling on the Wilhelmstal license, which is instantly south of Otjimbojo License and the results are awaited.
During late 1980s and early 2000s, AGA has drilled Gold Kop target in many places, which is a 4km-long gold, arsenic, copper soil anomaly. Previously, the target has returned 71g/t gold over 1m, 8.6 g/t gold over 4m, 5.6g/t gold over 7m. AGA drill holes have confirmed considerable drill intercepts over a 2.2km strike of changed marble.
When Helio has performed rock sampling earlier over Gold Kop, it has confirmed the occurrence of Au + Ag + As + Bi + Cu + Fe ± Sb. This resource association is similarly identified in the recently drilled Navachab gold mine and the Wilhelmstal license.
Helio has completed the geophysical surveys recently on Gold Kop target and has outlined several large, unbroken anomalies for instant drilling.
