Bridgeport Ventures has announced the final drilling results from its Rosario Project, which is situated at 38 km Copiapo’s south-east in Region III of Chile.
The diamond drilling had begun on January 6th, 2011 and analyzed many geophysical and geological targets spotted during the 2010 drilling program and the 2011 Magnetic geophysical and ground Induced Polarization review. Based on the results, Bridgeport has planned to end its privileges to buy a 100% interest in the Julia Rosario and Eliana properties, depending on the results.
Bridgeport has finished five drill holes during the 2011 drilling program. It has intersected 0.02 g/t gold and 0.63% copper over 24 m at the Trillador property and returns fine results in hole RDDH-015.
The company has purchased the properties in November 2009, which enable the Rosario project and so far has finished four drill programs in 17 drill holes, one mapping program and two geophysical reviews.
The Rosario copper-gold mineralization takes place as stratigraphically and structurally controlled zones that contain hydrothermal breccias, andesitic volcanic strata, intrusive breccias and diorite intrusions. The mineralization is distributed in shallow-dipping zones, which are intersected by younger, multiple east-west striking faults.
Depending on the zone discontinuity, assay results and style of copper mineralization, Bridgeport has focused on exploration at the Rosario property.
