Caterpillar Inc is all set to increase its investment in the Griffin facility. They will create 200 jobs in Spalding County with their investment of $ 120 million. The money will be spent on machinery, equipment, and upgrades to the existing facility as per Governor Nathan Deal.
Governor Deal said that as one of the world’s most recognizable and successful brands, Georgia took a great deal of pride that the state is one of the places Caterpillar calls home. Several industries in Georgia and around the world benefit from the Caterpillar operations here, so this investment creates great opportunities not only for the company, but also for the people and communities throughout the state.
Rod Shurman, Griffin Engine Center Facility Manager said that they looked forward to investing in their facility in Griffin, which will allow them to improve process capability, flexibility and flow of their operations to optimize efficiency. He added that they had a great relationship with state and local officials and appreciate the work they have done to make this project happen. This location has been very successful for them because it keeps us close to our customers and supply base.
Caterpillar is the world’s largest maker of construction and mining equipment. 60% of its revenue is generated outside North America. The rising prices of metals and energy have raised the price of production for the company. However this has not adversely affected its demand of products.
