Uranium North Resource Discovers New Gold and Silver Zones at Nowyak Property

Uranium North Resource has discovered several new zones of high-grade gold and silver at the Nowyak property in Nunavut from the information acquired in April 2011. These new zones are highlighted by the grab samples of up to 50.3 g/t gold and 44.8 g/t silver and are distinct from the famous mineralized shear zone in the property’s central part, which is planned for summer drilling.

Nowyak showing

The company has gathered 43 grab samples from the six regions in a 3 x 1.5 km area 4 to 7 km of the key Nowyak shear zone’s east side in 2004. It has received over 1 g/t gold from the 10 samples with 50.3 g/t gold from a quartz vein. The company has assayed 43 samples and 23 samples have anomalous gold values more than 100 ppb.

The CEO and President of the company, has commented that the latest data has found many new high-grade mineralization area at the property with partial geophysics and drilling program. These results will be followed up by the 2011 drilling program at the Nowyak property.

Uranium North has encountered high grade gold and silver mineralization from the quartz layers and yielded 50.3 g/t gold and 44.8 g/t silver along the border of a small lake delineating a high interest zone known as the 3900 area. The report for this information considers that this small lake, which is located analogous to the Nowyak shear zone, may possibly be a huge recessive mineralized formation fit for analysis.

The Professional Geologist, who documented this Nowyak’s eastern discovery, has commented that these excellent results have been influenced by wide fracturing and shearing and are gold bearing. There are two styles of gold mineralization namely granite hosted and shear hosted.

Uranium North has acquired data for the Nowyak property in April 2011. At present, the Company is analyzing the geophysical and geological data to prepare for a 2011 exploration program including drilling.
