Midlands Minerals Engages Geodrill for New Drilling at Kaniago Project

Midlands Minerals has engaged the Ghana-based Geodrill to perform a fresh drill campaign at its Kaniago gold project, Ghana. This program contains reverse circulation (RC) drilling of 2,000 m at the Kaniago West target zone and diamond drill for analyzing the down dip mineralized expansions of the gold zones, which was discovered by the previous RC drilling results.

Kaniago Project

This fresh RC drilling is a phase II exploration program for the Kaniago West target zone that has planned to additionally outline the gold mineralization region.

The company has intersected 1.67 g/t gold over 4 m in the hole KNRC-004, 1.42 g/t gold over 10 m and 1.78 g/t gold over 6 m in the hole KNRC-005, from the results of the former drilling at the Kaniago West target zone.

The Chairman of Midlands Minerals has commented that the company is delighted to work with Geodrill, a marquee driller, as it continues to revive the company’s drilling efforts in Ghana.

Besides the drill campaign, a trenching program has begun by the company to examine several soil geochemical anomalies at the 45.7 sq km Kaniago property, containing the Mmooho, Kobinaso and Kaniago West target zones. The location of these zones is in the north-northeast trending mineralized corridor at the property’s west part. In addition, Kobinaso is present over a prospective east-west trending fault, defined by the EM surveys. The company has also performed an infill soil sampling at the Kobinaso target zone to examine and outline the formerly discovered gold soil anomalies before the beginning of the trenching campaign.
