Commander Resources has begun an induced polarization (IP) survey program at the Stump Lake gold property. The company has conducted a comprehensive soil sampling campaign during August and September and has installed 3 x 3 km for this survey.
It will utilize the IP survey and soil geochemistry test along with the outcrop sampling, ground magnetic geophysical survey and geological mapping, which was formerly completed, to discover the drill targets of utmost importance to be followed-up later.
Coarse, carbonate-quartz breccia having many stockwork of open-spaced fracture-fillings and chalcedonic quartz veins encountered gold values from a range of 0.5 to 6 g/t. At first, the company has found sprinkled gold breccia showings over a strike of 1 km length in the restricted outcrop. Commander has tested considerable values of gold and molybdenum from rock chip samples.
Initial regional magnetic information analysis has shown that a small intrusive series lies beneath the gold potential region.
Vancouver-based, Frontier Geophysics has been engaged to begun this IP survey and is moved to the property in October 2011. The company has planned the arrays to choose at depth, the brecciated veins at surface and to permit for a deeper penetration for any intrusive discovery, which may be the basis of the epithermal vein structure.
The company will perform this survey over a period of five weeks. The company will be supported by the IP data analysis and results along with the geochemical data to target the anomalous regions.
