Mirasol Resources has started a primary diamond drill campaign over 90 holes and has begun drilling of 12,000 m at the Joaquin silver project, Argentina. This project is a joint venture between the company and Coeur d'Alene Mines (Coeur).
The company has reported a primary estimated resource for the project, which has included 47.9 Moz silver in the Inferred category and 19.6 Moz silver in the Indicated category.
The company has planned for a future drilling at the Joaquin project, particularly on the La Morocha silver and La Negra gold-silver deposits. This program has been planned to extend and infill the available resources. The focus of the extension drill program will be to deeply dig the La Morocha shoot that is under the presently drilled 140 m depth and extend the shallow oxide gold and silver mineralization at La Negra, opening to the eastern and western portion. Additionally, Coeur has corroborated its plans to extend the regional exploration program of the fresh target areas and targets the discoveries of the precious metals away from the property.
The company has planned for an extension and an infill drilling of 19 holes, totaling 2,610 m, and 35 holes, totaling 4,080 m in the La Negra deposit and 7 holes, totaling 1,690 m, and 29 holes, totaling 4,200 m in the La Morocha deposit, respectively.
Coeur has a vested 51% of interest in the Joaquin project and is the operator of the project.
