Mirasol Resources Completes Diamond Drilling at Rio Seco Prospect

Mirasol Resources has declared that a 2,600 m of diamond drilling campaign has been completed at the Rio Seco gold-silver vein prospect, which is a part of the Claudia project situated near the Cerro Vanguardia gold mine.

The company has commenced an aggressive surface exploration, targeting three huge epithermal prospects, namely the Curahue, Laguna Blanca-Ailen and Rio Seco prospects, at the Claudia Project.

Mirasol’s exploration program has defined five vein zones irregularly opened over a 3,200x2,350 m area at the Rio Seco prospect. Induced polarization (IP) electrical geophysics and surface geology have traced a series of priority targets in the area. Rio Seco’s surface assay results were obtained from the J Zone, including gold and silver of up to 20.1 g/t and 34 g/t from rock chip sampling program, respectively. The company encountered 13.9 g/t gold and 229 g/t silver over 0.7 m, and 1.9 g/t gold and 22 g/t silver over 10.5 m from saw-cut channel and trench intersections as well as from rock chip sampling.

Results from geophysical, sampling and trenching program have discovered several gold-silver anomalous vein targets and showings. These programs were carried out at the Rio Seco Main, Veinte, Oculto, Loma Larga and Loma Alta zones.

Silicified lake sediments, preserved sinters and low temperature vein textures are the geological characteristics hosted in several of the Rio Seco vein showings. Through drilling, high-grade mineralization and broader veins at depth could be encountered.

The focus of the ongoing drilling campaign will be specifically on the Rio Seco prospect, where the company has designed a first pass core drill program in order to examine the veins at depths that range from 25 to 130 m beneath the surface. Mirasol will announce the drill test results once they become available.

The Curahue and Laguna Blanca-Ailen prospect areas are being subjected to surface exploration with an aim to provide several targets for sequential drill testing in the field season between 2012 and 2013.
