Thomson Resources Reports Further Drilling Results from Cuttaburra Trend

Thomson Resources has announced additional assay results of two holes from the Cuttaburra trend. The company has intersected 2.5 g/t gold over 0.5 m at the Cut A. Anomalous elements tin, tungsten and bismuth have proposed that a further exploration model may be suitable for this region.

Location of anomalies being drill tested in the Cuttaburra area, north western NSW.

The associated intrusion gold deposit is a latest categorization of gold deposits and is connected with granitic rocks. This mineral system type has several significant deposits in the Tintina gold belt, Alaska.

The mineralization, pluton size, setting, vein style and connected anomalous elements have shown that a system associated with intrusive gold is a suitable exploration model for the Cuttaburra A project. Mineralization’s sheeted vein nature at the Cuttaburra is identical to intrusion-connected gold systems. The geometry and size of the system are suitable to the model. All examined magnetic anomalies have size of around 1 sq. km, though huge anomalies are present. The host rocks are inferred to be an expansion of the sedimentary rocks that houses the main Cobar-type deposits.

Thomson will evaluate the prospective continually for Cobar-type deposits but this new model identification has considerably expanded the exploration opportunities of the company. It has completed its phase I drill program at the Cuttaburra project. After cutting graphitic and pyritic sediments, the new hole CutBD03 explains the targeted IP anomaly.

The company intercepted sphalerite bearing veins. This has shown that the fresh hole is away from the mineralization’s centre part than the former drill program. The company will perform downhole geophysics, whole rock petrology and geochemistry for additional development of exploration targets and models.
