GoldQuest Mining has reported the assay results of the initial three vertical holes, drilled during the fourth quarter program at the La Escandalosa property, the Dominican Republic. The company drilled 1,070 m, totaling 10 holes, and is waiting for the assay results of the remaining seven holes.
The company intersected 1.95 g/t gold over 8.00 m and 0.95 g/t gold over 4.05 m in the hole LTP-67, 0.78 g/t gold over 4.13 m in the hole LTP-68, 4.87 g/t gold over 20.00 m, 3.57 g/t gold over 28.00 m and 0.98 g/t gold over 4.00 m in the hole LTP-69. This drilling examined the lateral expansions of the mineralization at the Escandalosa Sur and comprised the confirmatory infill drill program of the aforesaid zone in order to improve the deposit’s knowledge and drill density.
Julio Espaillat, GoldQuest’s CEO, commented that these drill results have shown the presence of gold at La Escandalosa. The plan of this drill program is to understand the mineralization to prepare for the drilling of the nearby geophysical targets in 2012.
The location of the Hondo Valle mineralization is 1,600 m towards the northern part of La Escandalosa, wherein the company encountered 3.45 g/t gold over 17.00 m and 2.18 g/t gold over 29.00 m in the hole LTP-065. Honda lie and La Escandalosa are situated contiguous to the Zone A Induced Polarization (IP) anomaly.
