Equitas Resources has updated the 2011 exploration program at the Day gold-copper porphyry project, located in the Toodoggone area of north-central BC. The location of this property is around 190 km to the northern part of Smithers in BC and 50 km towards the southern part of the previous Kemess South mine.
The Day project has included around 7,100 ha with five previous showings called A Chalcocite, Day, Porcupine, Raven and Roy.
Equitas has finished the preliminary ground work, which includes mapping, sampling and surveying. A primary exploration hole has been drilled at the Roy Showing. The company drilled EQ1 1-001 hole vertically to a depth of around 280.42 m, in the central portion of the previously trenched region.
The company is delighted about these drilling results and has planned to finish an 8 to 10 hole drilling campaign at the Day property during 2012’ summer season. The initial target of the campaign will be to extend on the mineralization present at the Roy Showing. The company has validated the high-grade mineralization, which was obtained formerly at the Porcupine and Day showings.
The company is validating several gold-copper porphyry targets continuously in and out of British Columbia.
