Entrée Gold has obtained final work results from the Shivee West project in Mongolia. The company performed the work on the Zone III epithermal shallow gold target and the northern portion was extended. The company encountered 19.3 g/t gold over 3 m and 42.4 g/t gold over 4 m in the Argo zone, which was found in the north portion.
Epithermal shallow gold mineralization was the target of the 2011 work program. This work contained reverse circulation (RC) drilling of 23 holes vertically, excavator trenching of 1,120 linear metres and 200 x 600 m area of surface sampling. Argo and Zone III are the two near-surface gold mineralization present in quartz veined felsic volcanic rocks present in the tested region.
Surface chip sampling, two trenches and two fresh RC holes have partially outlined the Argo zone. The company intersected 2.21 g/t gold over 3 m in hole EGRC-11-111 and 1.82 g/t gold over 14 m in hole EGRC-11-112. It has taken two high-grade chip samples in order to assess a quartz stockwork hosted in dacitic volcanic rocks. Mineralization stays exposed in many directions.
The company yielded 1.44 g/t gold over 6 m and 0.69 g/t gold over 6 m from trench sampling of 2011 conducted at Zone III, 1.39 g/t gold over 18 m and 0.51 g/t gold over 22 m from outcrop and trench sampling. It encountered 2.08 g/t gold over 8 m in hole EGRC-11-123.
Entrée Gold has been planning to start surface work and further drilling in the second quarter of 2012 to outline mineralized gold in the Argo zone and Zone III.
