Zone Resources has reported the drilling results of the hole ZR11-08 drilled at the Girard iron ore property in North Québec. The company cut iron formation in the hole, including 35.77% iron over 243.00 m.
The company drilled the hole ZR11-08 on an aerial magnetic anomaly, of length 5 km, in the Girard claim group’s west portion. Iron formation that is rich in magnetite collared the hole. The iron zone remained continuous for 243.00 m. The range of iron contents present in separate samples were 23.49% iron up to 45.55% iron in the range from 1.50 to 2.00 m.
Zone Resources’ CEO and President, Charles Desjardins, commented that the company is elated about the Girard project’s prospective. The plan of the company is to concentrate on the primary drilling of 2012 at the project, with several magnetic anomalies. The preliminary work will target continuously on magnetite iron formations. The property is considered to contain good potential of returning high-grade hematite rich zones, which the company will follow up later in 2012.
The Girard claim group includes 602 claims. Several anomalies have been defined by the aerial magnetic survey. The length and thickness of all the magnetic anomalies, which were considered to be created by magnetite iron formation are around 75 km and more than 2 km respectively.
The location of the hole ZR11-08 was 21 km towards the western part of the hole ZR11-09. The company cut 35.64% iron over 137.00 m in hole ZR11-09, which was also collared in iron formation. Activation Laboratories conducted the analyses with X-Ray fluorescence.
