Paget Minerals has reported the drilling results from the Ball Creek project. The drilling program was conducted on the Rainbow gold porphyry target, which is situated in the Golden Triangle - Iskut Mineral District in Northwest BC.
The company intersected 0.05% copper, 0.76 g/t gold and 2.0 g/t silver over 91 m, 0.07% copper, 1.13 g/t gold, and 3.0 g/t silver over 22 m in the hole RN-11-01, which is mineralized entirely from surface to depth to overall bottoms in 0.48 g/t Au, 0.03% copper, 0.39 g/t gold, 1.54 g/t silver over 10 m and 0.27 g/t gold over 8 m in the hole RN-11-02. These two drill holes were the primary holes drilled at Rainbow target.
The mineralization is hosted in sharply-dipping, banded and sheeted magnetite and quartz veinlets, which are similar to the banded veins. These banded veins exist at the gold porphyries’ top portion in Chile. Maricunga-style mineralization has been indicated by the anomalous halo of silver and zinc, high ratio of gold and copper and lack of alteration selvages at the Rainbow target. The banded veining is present in volcanic breccias and andesite volcanics. The company has identified this banded veining on surface in a moraine-filled depression. The intercept found in the hole RN-11-01 is broader than the outcropping mineralization.
