Victoria Gold has announced the latest drilling results of the 2011 exploration that was conducted at the company’s Dublin Gulch property in Canada. The assay results that have been obtained recently from Olive and Shamrock target areas demonstrate the presence of large grades of gold in the Potato Hills mineralized belt’s middle part.
The company has intersected 1.78 g/t gold over 24.39 m and 1.22 g/t gold over 38.06 m in the hole DG11-454C located at the Shamrock target and 1.23 g/t gold over 11.23 m, 0.72 g/t gold over 22.83 m in the hole DG11-466C drilled at the Olive target.
Mining of the Olive and Shamrock regions were previously done from many near-surface adits and shafts. Placer mining has also been conducted on these areas in creeks. These targets have been found to contain main source areas. The company has conducted exploration work in 2010 and 2011 and has outlined a potentially mineralized zone, wherein the Dublin Gulch granodiorite stock has been cut by the controlling structure of East-North-East trending Potato Hills. This Dublin Gulch granodiorite stock has the Eagle Gold deposit.
The surface sampling program conducted by the company has obtained substantial results of gold in this mineralized system and over a strike, whose length is more than 8 km. The company’s drill program has validated a core with around 1.7 km of strike length and mineralized structures, which individually range from 1 to 40 m in width.
