Integra Gold declared that it has included a third drilling program in the Lamaque Gold Project located in Val d'Or, in the Province of Quebec, Canada.
This drill program represents the second drill on the No. 4 Plug. In 2012, Integra Gold is striving to increase its gold resource and enhance resource types on 4 of the 13 gold zones existing on the property. In addition, drilling is being carried out on the Triangle Zone.
On the No. 4 Plug, the company has expanded the exploration drilling to at least 12,500 m with depths to reach 1,000 -1,300 m. So far, in the first two holes 2,685 m have been drilled. The first hole assessed the quartz diorite’s depth extension, while the second hole aimed at validating the high gold values encountered in hole T 03-02. The company has dispatched the core samples to the laboratories. Assay results have not been received yet.
John de Jong, President and CEO at Integra Gold, informed that 46% of the inferred resources have been identified in the No. 4 Plug, which is an important target for Integra Gold. Since the No. 4 Plug remains exposed in all directions, it warrants an intense drilling campaign. After additional drilling and data are completed, Integra Gold plans to update the existing resource estimate. He further added that the proximity of the No. 4 Plug to the high grade gold Triangle Zone makes the region as a major gold bearing zone groups on the Lamaque Gold Project.
The inclusion of a second drilling program will speed up the data collection needed to update the current resource estimate. The company has constructed drill platforms to allow further drilling and also to promote access to the road. In the 2012 drilling campaign, untested regions will be drilled at and beneath the 210 m level, to a depth of about 1,300 m.
Resource calculation and auditing of the No. 4 Plug was done by utilizing a historic gold rate, which was significantly lower than present gold rates. Latest drill data of 2012 will be included in the geological database to allow an updated resource estimate of this zone’s resources. The renewed resource estimate will reveal current-day market gold rates as well as related cut-off grades.
