Midlands Minerals has announced the drilling results of its 1,995 m diamond drilling program at Kaniago West and Mmooho targets located in Kaniago Gold Project in Ghana. The drilling was completed on March 8, 2012.
The focus on drilling at the Mmooho target was to expand the target along the strike and to provide core samples for structural investigation and analysis in locating deeper parallel zones of mineralisation.
Drill holes KNDD-12-001, KNDD-12-002, and KNDD-12-003A amounting to a total depth of 1,289 m have confirmed the presence of gold mineralisation with more than 0.5 g/t gold with composite of 3.8 m grading 4.86 g/t gold at a depth of 95.6 m in drill hole KNDD-12-002. Drilling at the Kaniago West gold target was focused on defining gold mineralisation next to the thick zone of gold mineralisation located in drill hole KNRC-11-041 drilled previously. Drill holes KNDD-12-004 and KNDD-12-005 amounting to a total depth of 606.7 m have confirmed the presence of gold mineralisation of more than 0.5 g/t of gold with best composite of 7.0 m grading 1.75 g/t gold at a drill depth of 165.5 m in KNDD-12-005.
The next phase of work at the Kaniago concession includes expanding the possibility for large shallow and potential bulk mineable gold deposits in NNE shear zones with the geochemical trends and testing them with systematic fences of air core drilling spaced at a distance of 500 m to 800 m.
