CuOro Resources, a Canadian exploration company, has provided an update of its exploration program that is being carried out at the Barranco de Loba gold project located in the highly potential San Lucas Gold Belt in Colombia.
The company is continuing reconnaissance exploration field work across the land package covering 3,976 ha, in order to discover and outline drill target areas. A geochemistry sampling campaign was recently started, including the collection of soil, stream sediment and rock chip samples. The company collected the soil samples over a 3x3 km region together with samples on 200x200 m grid spacing. So far, 106 rock samples and 228 soil samples have been collected.
CuOro Resources has discovered and sampled 40 mineralized veins located within previous artisanal mine adits and intersected an average grade of 9.8 g/t gold over 10 mineralized veins, which were sampled in five various sites namely Cerro Jerez, Cerro Nuvia, Cerro Talide, Chunga and Saballanes. The company encountered 20.4 g/t gold from Cerro Jerez, 31.6 g/t gold from Cerro Talide and 10.2 g/t gold from Saballanes.
The company’s reconnaissance exploration was carried out to discover two key areas of interest, which are now being subjected to more comprehensive exploration program. Currently, the company is conducting geochemical sampling program in these regions over 100x100 m grids and has geologically mapped 15% of the concession.
The company will examine the data after the stream sampling and reconnaissance soil programs are completed. The company will sample any favorable regions along with collected soil samples on 50 m grid spacing. It will survey the 3x3 km area with geophysics, including very low frequency (VLF) survey, resistivity and induced polarization surveys, and ground magnetic surveys in order to outline prospective drill target areas. CuOro Resources will mobilize a drilling rig to project site, after the targets have been tracked and prioritized.
