Sunset Cove has announced that it has drilled a second diamond hole, DDH-06, at the Carolay Silver Property. The company has drilled the hole to a depth of 301 m and the hole has traversed two structures. The Carolay 1 vein and the Carolay vein have been crossed at 226 m and 193.06 m, respectively.
According to the President of Sunset Cove, Lorne Woods, the company halted the drilling of the hole DDH-06 at this depth, after traversing the two prominent structures located in Anomaly #1. The core logging has validated that several mineralized structures have been found at various depth and location from the hole DDH-07, wherein continuous structures have been identified.
The company intersected the Carolay vein from 193.06 to 194.60 m which included 4% of small iron oxide vein, 2% of muscovite crystals, 3% of small marmatite veins and 2% of small manganese oxides veins. The Carolay 1 vein was intercepted between 234.80 to 234.87 m. The company has identified a fault containing iron oxides. The results of the core assaying are expected to be ready shortly.
The company is preparing the assay of DDH-05, which is likely to be collared soon. This second diamond drill hole is specifically designed to traverse the prominent structures at a varied angle. Sunset has planned to commence surface exploration work at the Carolay property’s Maranon segment.
Similarities have been found between the previous exploration work and that of the popular Pataz Batholith, a productive gold producing segment located towards the eastern part of the other side of the Maranon River.
