DIOS EXPLORATION to Begin Mapping and Prospecting on 33 CARATS Gold Project

DIOS EXPLORATION has announced that it has planned to commence prospecting and mapping the tonalitic stage of the Erasme Lake pluton, on the porphyry-type 33 CARATS gold project situated on the northwest part of the Eastmain gold mine, Chibougamau.

The Otish Mountains road towards the diamond Renard deposit passes towards the eastern part of the segment at less than 1 to 2 km. During 2011, the company encountered several tonalite boulders in till glacial train.

The company’s new analysis work on other diamond tills has added the following values of gold in the tills along the gold dispersal glacial train that appears to end in the tonalite: 0.301 g/t, 0.301 g/t, 0.424 g/t, 0.731 g/t, 0.504 g/t, 0.352 g/t, 0.384 g/t, 1.320 g/t, 2.385 g/t and 2.5 g/t gold. These encouraging results validate the train and outline it more while explaining its importance with values higher than 2 g/t gold.

On behalf of DIOS EXPLORATION’s soil sampling work at the sector, IOS Services Géoscientifiques will analyze the outcrop up-ice of the gold train in order to focus on drill regions. IOS processed the till samples in its Saguenay laboratory.

Five rock samples obtained from the glacial boulders were sent for a petrographic study. Anomalous gold and silver values were encountered in these rock samples. This petrographic study confirmed potassic alterations. Potassic alteration of the granodioritic-tonalitic rocks, which are mineralized in chalcopyrite-pyrite and in quartz veinlets, has demonstrated favourable prospective for porphyry type gold mineralization.
