Mahdia Gold has declared that two further diamond drill rigs has been mobilized in order to complete 6500 m of twin and confirmatory drill program along the Wenot Trend, located in Guyana.
Master Drilling Services and Songela have been engaged by the company to mobilize two rigs for the completion of 6500 m of diamond drill program, totaling 12 to 15 holes. This drilling program has aimed to validate the capability for optimizing the Wenot Mineralized system, which yielded around 1.4 Moz with average grades of 1.4 g/t recovered during the period of 1995 and 2001, after the completion of development and discovery drilling by Cambior Mining, Golden Star Resources and Placer Dome Gold. Three confirmed holes drilled during this campaign are placed to twin intercepts that were drilled in the Wenot West region. The remaining holes have been placed to validate and extend the prominent mineralized trend found in the Wenot West and beneath the Wenot Pit. The previous drilling results have indicated significant mineralized material outside mined volumes and capability to extend with an updated economic model, which uses the proposed confirmatory work and previous data.
The company is working through the recovering and rehabilitating process for core from the drilling carried out at Wenot trend for resampling and relogging in order to upgrade the information to National Instrument 43-101 compliance.
