Calvista Gold, a mineral exploration company, has reported that it has completed the phase II drill program at the Callejón Blanco prospect. This program has included around 5,000 m of diamond core drilling.
According to Mark Haywood, Calvista Gold’s Chief Executive Officer and President, the company will process all the assays in order to update the recently reported NI 43-101 inferred mineral resources for this quarter, after the phase II drill program is completed.
The company commenced the phase II program on 20 March, 2012 and completed it on 18 June, 2012. This program included diamond drilling of more than 11 holes, totaling 4,973.90 m. The company’s phase I program has included 38 holes. It has currently drilled around 20,000 m at its two key prospects, Buenavista and Callejón Blanco. The company drilled 2,437.30 m totaling five holes in the Buenavista prospect, and 2,536.60 m totaling six holes in the Callejón Blanco prospect, during the phase II drilling program. It is expecting the results to be released at the earliest.
Calvista is preparing a phase III drill program and intends to include 10,000 m of diamond core drilling. This program may begin during the final quarter of 2012.
Metallic screen analysis was used to re-assay the samples, having results of more than 10 g/t of gold. Colombia-based ALS Group carries out the preparation of the samples, prior to the testing conducted at the ALS certified assay lab in Peru.
