HRT Participações em Petróleo (HRT) has declared that its subsidiary HRT O&G Exploraçãoe Produção de Petróleo (HRT O&G) has submitted notice of gas discovery in 1-HRT-8-AM well to the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP).
The company noticed two reservoir intervals that bear gas in the Juruá formation, between the depth of 3,045 and 3,130 m, based on hydrocarbon shows found in mud logging gas identification, cuttings and wire line formation tests.
HRT spudded the well on March 17, 2012 and attained an ultimate depth of 3,345 m in Devonian sedimentary rocks. Casing will be done for the exploration well, thus drill stem tests can be executed to assess the reservoirs’ production potential.
This well is situated in Block SOL-T-169 and validates a gas trend towards the eastern part of the Juruá Field, wherein former gas discoveries were done in wells 1-HRT-2-AM and 1-HRT-5-AM, at 22 and 32 km distance, respectively. This gas discovery is another significant phase in the appraisal of the gas prospective of the Tefe cluster found in the Solimões basin. The 1-HRT-8-AM well will be a segment of an assessment plan, which will be submitted to ANP.
The 1-HRT-8-AM well is situated in the Municipality of Tefé, which is in the State of Amazonas. This well was specifically drilled by QG-VIII, the Queiroz Galvão drill rig.
HRT in collaboration with TNK-Brasil is exploring the Solimões basin. TNK-Brasil is a joint venture between AAP and BP and is based in Russia. It is a subsidiary of TNK-BP.
