Waymar Resources, a mineral exploration firm based in Canada, has announced key drilling results from four additional holes drilled at the company’s Anzá property, located in the Republic of Colombia. These holes are drilled as a part of an overall campaign specifically designed to discover and extend high-grade mineralized gold along the Aragón Fault.
According to Waymar’s CEO and President, Pablo Marcet, the drill hole MAP-38 yielded the high-grade gold zone, which is highest obtained till now, and this zone validates the mineralization continuity intercepted in drill-hole MAP-21. The company is delighted with the advancement of the drill campaign and continues to extend the overall deposit’s size and the high-grade zones.
Mineralization identified at the Anzá property expands to at least 2,100 m along the Aragón Fault structure. The deposit stays exposed down-dip, and also towards south and north. Surface geophysics and geochemistry, and geological mapping outlined the other targets present in the area. Drilling has not been conducted yet on these targets.
Since the commencement of drilling during April 2011, the company has drilled and assayed an additional 1,535 m for a total of 12,800 m at the Anzá deposit. It is continuing the drill program at the property.
An Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS) finish and an aqua regia digestion are utilized in the analytical process for zinc and silver. ALS Group Laboratories prepared and assayed all the core samples in Colombia and Perú, respectively. Exploration carried out at the Anzá property so far is considered to be inadequate to outline a mineral resource.
