Ginguro Exploration, a mineral exploration firm, has reported that it has begun the drill campaign at the PardoGold project, which is situated 65 km towards the northeastern part of Sudbury in Ontario.
This drill program will follow up on the new analysis that was completed on the Pardo sedimentary basin, called the Basin Analysis. The company specifically designed the Basin Analysis so that it can provide vectors in order to spot the location of the river gravels’ gold-enriched mid-fan setting, wherein these ravels were deposited for more than 2.4 billion year at the Pardo project. The mid-fan setting lies in a paleo-placer, containing high-concentrations of typical gold.
The company has declared that a main target covering more than 5 sq. km has been discovered by the resulting interpretive work.
Downhole survey information received from acoustic televiewer, density, resistivity and spectral gamma instruments gathered from inside six dissimilar holes has been subjected to comprehensive correlation with drilling core from similar six holes to discover the mid-fan target area.
The orientation of the resulting trend is towards the southern or south-eastern parts and the trend points in a region, which has not been prospected early. Geological mapping was performed to follow-up the Basin Analysis has validated the geology’s favorable nature in the region. The target rocks, which are to be drill tested, are found within 50 m from surface and may potentially increase to 100 m down in some sites.
Ginguro has been engaged for the 1,500 m drill program to conduct sampling on this freshly discovered trend. The company is expecting to continue the drill campaign till sometime in November and will announce the results, once they become available.
