Equinox Exploration has announced that a drill campaign has been started at the Binghampton Copper Queen (BCQ) project with the help of a diamond drill core rig.
This volcanogenic massive sulfide (VMS) project is located adjacent to Prescott in Arizona.
The company has included a second reverse circulation (RC) drill rig to the contract, which is likely to arrive at the project by next week. The drill core rig will concentrate on the current Copper Queen mine, which has been expanded on a number of levels. The geological survey conducted in Arizona recorded a production of 1,413 short tons that graded 9.95% copper, 3.3 g/t gold, 54.2 g/t silver and 0.25% zinc for the Copper Queen mine project.
Once the RC drill rig arrives at the project, it will examine the strike expansion of mineralization at Copper Queen and other mineralized regions in the Copper Queen trend.
The company continues to conduct surface exploration program at the BCQ project in order to trace further VMS trends in the 2,032 ha property. Activity is ongoing at the Aura property, which is an oxide copper manto project located 31 km towards the southeastern part of Copiapo in Chile. This activity allows the company to start ore delivery to the Enami processing facility by this month end.
The road access towards the property has been improved in order to allow haul truck to reach several locations in the lease. The company has bought heavy equipment that also contains haul trucks.
Equinox Exploration’s President, Vic Nielsen commented that the company is delighted with the inclusion of the second rig to the project which will speed up exploration of additional VMS trends.
