Amlib Holdings Plc (the “Company”) announces that the Phase 1 exploration drilling programme at the Zwedru Project (see Figure 1) commenced on the 11th March 2013.
The planned programme consists of 97 drill holes for a total of 5,000m of NQ sized drilling. The programme will target the coincident aeromagnetic and soil geochemical gold anomalies (>100ppb Au) that have been delineated by the Company’s exploration team over a strike length of approximately 12km. The drilling will comprise of between 3 to 6 'heel to toe' short (60m to 120m) inclined diamond drill holes in order to evaluate the hard rock validity to the surface gold anomalies.
Amlib Drilling Services (Liberia) Inc. have been engaged to conduct this drill programme using their recently acquired Ingetrol MD3 Explorer Plus man portable diamond drill rig, which is capable of drill to a depth of 400m with NQ size core.
The programme is helicopter supported in order to ensure maximum efficiency and quick drill moves.
Mark Pryor, VP Exploration commented; “I am extremely excited by the start of the initial drill programme along this major Birimian hosted gold/aeromag anomaly. We have numerous high priority target zones where cross cutting NW trending structures dislocate the major NE trending gold/aeromag feature and it is these zones that characteristicly host the major Birimian gold deposits in the West African Shield”.
