Bayfield Ventures Corp. is pleased to announce the commencement of a program of advanced geological, geotechnical and geochemical studies from the continuing exploration of its 100% owned mineral rights at the Burns Block gold-silver project.
The Company's Burns Block is located in the Rainy River District of north-western Ontario and is ideally situated adjacent to the east of Rainy River Resources' main multi-million ounce gold-silver deposit and to the west of their expanding Intrepid gold-silver zone.

The main goal of the planned work is to increase confidence in the geometry, grade distribution and additional exploration potential of the down plunge portion of the Intrepid shoot of gold and silver mineralization located in the eastern and south-central portion of the Burns Block property.

While the Intrepid shoot will be the main focus of the work program, the planned investigations will also cover high-grade gold-silver mineralized zones located in the western portion of the Burns Block as well as base metal rich gold and silver mineralization discovered on Bayfield's 100% owned mineral rights "B" Block property to the northeast.

The following field work is planned to commence immediately:
- Gyro down hole surveying of selected core holes in both the eastern and western Burns Block will be done. This high sensitivity surveying is being done to back up the routinely collected reflex down hole survey data.
- High precision drill hole collar surveying of the holes completed to date in 2013. This surveying has been done in due course throughout our exploration program and the planned surveying will complete the collar location dataset to the present time.
- Rock density values will be collected from core. This work will cover rock intervals above, in and below known gold-silver zones and cover all the geologic units logged during the exploration program.
Other studies to commence immediately include:
- 3D modelling and wire framing of all high-grade gold-silver shoots discovered by Bayfield will be done in order to better understand the geologic controls on our developing resource as well as provide a solid base for targeting planned extension drilling of known zones and potential exploration drilling targets for additional high-grade shoots.
- Base metal assays will be done for significant intervals of logged chalcopyrite and sphalerite mineralization that occurs along with previously announce gold-silver mineralization discovered in the south-central portion of the "B" Block property.
- Thin sections of key mineralized and altered zones will be prepared for examination of mineral paragenisis with a focus on the style and mineralogy in high-grade gold and silver bearing intervals.
- Metallurgical and recovery studies are planned using the existing core from important high-grade and lower-grade mineralized zones.
It is anticipated that this planned work will be completed by mid-July and that targeting of additional drilling for 2013 exploration, delineation and infill program will commence thereafter.
