Oligoclase, a rock-forming mineral is a member of the plagioclase feldspars. It has intermediate characteristics between an albite and anorthite. The mineral was named by August Breithaupt in 1826 after the Greek words ‘oligos’ and ‘clasein’ which mean little and to break, respectively.

At a copper refinery located in Piedras Verdes, Mexico, Strongwell’s fiberglass operating platforms and walkways totaling over 10,000 square feet were installed to withstand corrosion. The refinery employs solvent extraction electrowinning (SXEW) process for copper extraction from the ore.
Babingtonite was named after the Irish mineralogist and physician, Dr. William Babington. It is a member of the Babingtonite group of minerals. The other members are scandiobabingtonite and manganbabingtonite.
