Adventure Gold Initiates 1,500m Drilling Program on Detour Quebec Project

Adventure Gold Inc. (the "Company," "AGE") is pleased to announce the initiation of a 1,500 metres drilling program this week on its 100% owned Detour Quebec project (the "Project"). The Company also announces that line cutting and geophysical surveys are now underway on the Project.

The Project consists of 869 claims and covers an area of 47,100 hectares over 80 kilometres on the Detour Gold Trend ("DGT"), adjacent to Detour Gold Corporation's namesake mine (see figure 1).

Drilling on the Project will initially focus on gold zones associated with the Sunday/Detour Lake deformation corridor located 4 kilometres south of Balmoral's Bug Lake high grade gold zone. Gold-sulphide mineralization within these zones is hosted by a series of sericite, quartz and iron carbonate shear zones which cut sediment, volcanic and feldspar porphyry dykes which are a common host for gold mineralization throughout the Abitibi. Twenty historic shallow drill holes in these zones have returned gold intercepts with grade by thickness ranging from 1 to 15 g/t Au x metres (MRN Sigeom database). Two IP anomalies will also be tested 5 kilometers to the south (see figure 2). The winter drilling program is expected to be completed in April.

"We are very pleased to be commencing our first drill program ever on our Detour Quebec project. We will test some of our best drilling targets in the vicinity of the Sunday/Detour Lake deformation zone south of Balmoral's Bug Lake zone," commented Marco Gagnon, Adventure Gold's President and CEO. "This winter exploration work also included a 120 line-kilometer ground Magnetics and Induced Polarization survey in the central and western part of the Project over highly prospective ground."

Mr. Jules Riopel, Vice-President Exploration and Acquisitions of Adventure Gold acting as the qualified person (as defined by NI 43-101) reviewed and approved the scientific and technical information in this press release. He will supervise the winter work program on the Project.
