Millrock Resources Inc., a premier project generator to the mining industry, has announced assay results from road cut sampling made at the Sunrise prospect.
The samples were collected by drilling at the Aurora prospect of the West Pogo block, followed by trenching at the E1 prospect, Eagle block, located at the 64North Gold Project in Alaska.
The 64North Gold Project is a massive project located close to the Pogo Mine of Northern Star. Resolution Minerals is earning an interest in this gold project by financially supporting the exploration work.
Aurora Prospect, West Pogo Block
The last two diamond drill holes—20AU08 and 20AU09—of the drilling program performed in 2020 had intersected numerous quartz veins that followed up on the 7.0 m-thick quartz vein in the previously reported 20AU07 hole.
But in spite of the technical success, no major assays were detected on these final three holes for 2020. A detailed assessment of the assay results and structural data from the 2020 West Pogo drilling program is ongoing to establish the following steps for the Echo, Aurora, and Reflection Prospects.
E1 Prospect, Eagle Block
Millrock Resources has mined four trenches that total 716 m in length across the highest priority structures at the Eagle Block prospect. All the four trenches had intersected multiple zones of gold mineralization that are consistent with intrusion-hosted-intrusion-related style gold mineralization.
Rock sampling and trenching, concluded at the Eagle prospect in late 2020, yielded low-grade gold mineralization zones:
- 26.0 m @ 0.10 g/t gold (Au) in Trench ID: 20E1002
- 12.0 m @ 0.20 g/t Au including 3.0 m @ 0.56 g/t Au in Trench ID: 20E1004
The trenches are situated inside a massive gold geochemical anomaly measuring 10 km2. Resolution Minerals has indicated its plans to perform additional work to design drill targets in 2021 at the Eagle Block prospect.
A drill road, which was earlier constructed, runs from the Pogo Mine road to the Aurora prospect of Millrock Resources and intersects the Sunrise prospect. When constructing the road, Bedrock was exposed across considerable lengths in road cuts.
Millrock Resources has also performed continuous rock sampling along the road cut that revealed a wide zone of low-grade intrusion-hosted gold mineralization. The outcomes are:
- 93.0 m @ 0.29 g/t Au including 27.0 m @ 0.53 g/t Au with the highest interval of 1.0 m @ 1.89 g/t Au.
Situated near the south of the Aurora prospect, the Sunrise prospect is around 4 km from the Pogo Mine of Northern Star. The Sunrise prospect is underlain by a quartz-felspar-biotite granite intrusion intersected by sheeted quartz veins containing gold.
This mineralization style is a unique trait of intrusion-hosted gold systems. Furthermore, the granite body is overburden-covered, excluding some slight outcroppings. A huge zone that measures 400 m x 1,100 m of anomalous soil sample outcomes overlies the inferred location of the granite body.
Resolution Minerals has also indicated that it has planned a 3,000-m RAB drilling program with about 25 holes to be drilled. The drilling work will be performed along the current drill trail that leads from the Pogo Mine road to the Aurora prospect. Resolution Minerals has also planned to initiate drilling work in March 2021.
