Hemlo Explorers Inc. (the “Company”) is delighted to declare it has started drilling at its Project Idaho, situated around 2 km east of Generation Mining’s Marathon Palladium-Copper Project (“Marathon Pd-Cu Project”) near Marathon, Ontario.

Highlights:
- Diamond drilling has commenced at Project Idaho to assess numerous targets over a 3-km NS-trending strike length
- Targets coincident with a magnetic signature identical to that of the Eastern Gabbros at the nearby Marathon Pd-Cu Deposit within the Coldwell Complex
- Also, targets were selected to intersect VTEM anomalies that happen at depth, which correspond to surface Pt, Pd, and Cu mineralization and Coldwell Complex intrusives
This is the maiden drill campaign of the Company on Project Idaho, which has not observed any drilling since 1985. The drill program’s phase 1 targets multiple VTEM anomalies that happen at depth along a 3-km NS-striking magnetic trend.
Drill holes have been planned to intersect the VTEM anomalies, many of which happen near the inferred boundary between the Archean volcanoes to the east and Coldwell Complex to the west. Surface exposure of these rocks exhibited chaotic, brecciated textures with evident sulfide mineralization.
Grab samples gave flawed values of Copper, Platinum, Palladium, and Gold. The diamond drill targets are inside a 3-km NS-trending zone exhibiting a magnetic signature similar to the Eastern Gabbros at the Marathon Pd-Cu Deposit, approximately 2-km to the west. The drill sites are also coincident with favorable regional structural features associated Coldwell Complex magmatism. Targets are comparatively shallow, averaging around 180 m depth.
The Company has invested considerable attempts across the last twelve months to develop such drill targets by compiling historic geophysical, geological, and geochemical data and incorporating new exploration outcomes from the 2022 field season along with the airborne VTEM survey finished in 2022.
We believe we have the potential to discover a significant mineralized system similar to the Marathon Pd-Cu project. We are excited to be drilling the western side of Project Idaho close to a neighboring deposit in virgin ground.
