Sayona Mining Limited, a North American lithium producer, has revealed the findings of 36 new drillholes totaling 8,803 meters at its North American Lithium (NAL) property (Sayona 75%; Piedmont Lithium 25%) in Québec, Canada. These findings show the high-grade character of this key asset.
All drilling data from the 2023 exploration program have been completed, confirmed, and disclosed, and the first findings from the 2024 exploration program, which is now underway, are included in this release. The 2023 drill program effectively proved the potential to improve NAL’s mineral resource base.
The drill program for 2023 was meant to explore mineralization extensions and provide in-fill data for Mineral Resource category upgrades. The most recent drilling results include the discovery of high-grade lithium mineralization outside the Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) pit shells, particularly in the North-West and South-East extensions, and support the potential conversion of some Inferred resources to Indicated within the MRE pit shells.
We are delighted to have another strong set of drilling results from North American Lithium which continue to highlight the superb quality of this mine. The results reported today have shown that mineralization continues outside of the existing MRE pit shells so the next key step will be to complete a recalculation of the MRE to include recent drilling. Additionally, we will also complete a further 30,000 meters of drilling throughout 2024 to better understand the full potential of the NAL mineralization.
