Marmota Limited (“Marmota”) is pleased to announce exceptional assay results from its titanium discovery at the Muckanippie Project, South Australia. The initial metallurgical testwork has confirmed bonanza heavy mineral grades and significant mineralized thicknesses across each of its discovery holes.
Key Highlights
- Exceptional HM Concentrations:
- WI-081: 28 m @ 19.2% HM from surface, including 4 m @ 22.2% HM.
- WI-080: 36 m @ 13.5% HM from surface, including 4 m @ 27.8% HM.
- WI-079: 39 m @ 13.2% HM from surface, including 4 m @ 26.0% HM.
- WI-078: 24 m @ 13.5% HM from surface, including 4 m @ 21.3% HM.
- Palaeochannel Discovery:
- Geological reviews have identified a regional-scale palaeochannel hosting high-grade titanium mineralization.
- Marmota holds ~28 km of the palaeochannel, which spans up to ~5 km in width across tenements.
- Strategic Location:
- The discovery is located close to critical transport infrastructure, including rail lines from Adelaide to Darwin and Adelaide to Perth.
- Critical Mineral Potential:
- Marmota’s titanium mineralization features TiO2 grades exceeding 10%, enhancing its potential economic value.
Dr Colin Rose, Chairman of Marmota, commented:
"The first metallurgical Heavy Mineral (HM) assays are outstanding. They confirm Marmota’s discovery at Muckanippie as a highly significant new Heavy Mineral sands discovery. The HM assays feature bonanza grades in every discovery hole and speak for themselves. Marmota is moving rapidly to build on this momentum. It is a wonderful start to 2025, and just the beginning of what we expect will be a very rewarding year for the Company and our shareholders."
