ASG Group, an IT service provider, has bagged a contract with CITIC Pacific Mining to provide software as a managed service from its Perth data centre once it is completed. This deal allows the Australian listed company to step into cloud computing.
ASG Group had added SAP in April 2010 as a vendor partner via its acquisition of the Western Australian SAP software provider Courtland Business Solutions. The company also said that it was selected amongst the first SAP partner in Australia and New Zealand to offer the vendor’s new subscription based hosting product SBH.
ASG marketing general manager, Steve Tull said that by securing the contract, ASG has validated its strategy to enter the SAP market and have also demonstrated its ability to integrate the recently acquired Courtland Business Solutions.
Christian Thompson the director of Information Services at CITIC Pacific Mining said they were pleased to award the contract to the ASG group. He also said that ASG demonstrated the flexibility and agility we were seeking to support our IT transformation, in the face of strong competition from other key industry vendors.
