Quia Resources has entered into a contract for two drill rigs with Mincivil to finish 5,000 metres of drilling at its San Lucas property in Colombia.
The company is conducting the preliminary drill program to analyze three high-priority targets, which is described through geophysics, soil sampling and mapping.
The first target is a 1,000 metre long by 500 metre broad anomaly present in between gneissic rocks and a quartz diorite porphyry deposit. The next target is a 3,000 metre long anomaly concurrent with artisanal mine sites. Several high-grade gold samples have been encountered in these mine sites. The third target is a 1,200 metre long by 750 metre broad anomaly, which is of a lower grade located over extremely silicified sub-volcanic region having an epithermal signature. The company is anticipated to begin the drilling program in early May.
Quia has performed widespread surface exploration to outline numerous high priority target areas. This exploration has shown the potential for distributed gold mineralization and high-grade gold mineralization. This initial drilling of the company is the most important occurrence in developing the property. Also, ongoing regional soil sampling program is done in other regions of the property by the company.
