AndeanGold has announced the first three drill hole results from the Phase I infill drilling program at Urumalqui Gold-Silver exploration project in Peru.
This proposed drilling includes up to 23 diamond core holes and drilling of 3,000 to 4,000 m at the Urumalqui Epithermal Vein. So far, AndeanGold has finished drilling 13 holes totaling 2,309 m. The company has shipped the core samples of the initial eight holes to the Inspectorate Lab in Lima for testing.
The purpose of this drilling program was to verify the historic infill drilling results along the strike regions of 1,000 m and to make 50 m drill spacings for upcoming resource estimate uses.
The company has completed all 13 holes at the Urumalqui Vein, which offers primary support for the continuous mineralization along the down dip and strike. So far, Explomin de Peru, the contract driller has accomplished drilling rate of 67 m daily on an average and has 94% core recoveries per hole in the Vein and 96% for the entire hole. On the whole, the drilling performance is according to the expectation of AndeanGold.
AndeanGold is focusing on infill drilling program to 200 m depth in order to offer around 50 m of drill spacing along the Urumalqui Vein that covers 1.0 km of the 1.5 km long Urumalqui Vein projection. This drilling density level is enough to prepare NI 43-101 resource estimates.
