Habanero Resources has announced that the 2011 work program is ongoing at the Haldane property.
The phase I exploration executed at the Haldane property will include prospecting, mapping, road building to the drill location, comprehensive magnetic surveying to identify the high-priority drill targets over the entire property and soil sampling. Habanero has significantly increased its land site in Yukon’s Keno Hill Silver Region recently by staking 289 claims for about 14,000 additional acres. Now, the total area of the Haldane Silver prospect is around 21,000 adjacent acres flanking the Bellekeno property of Alexco Resources. The company is expecting to complete this phase of exploration by early July.
The Minfile database between 1913 and 1989 published by the Yukon Government, has stated that Keno Hill Silver District has produced more than 5.37 mt of silver grading 40.52 oz/t silver, 3.14% zinc and 5.62% lead becoming the second-principal historical producer of silver in Canada.
The President of the company has commented that Habanero is excited to continue the work at the Haldane Silver Prospect. Yukon will become the most prospective drilling area and the company has two drilling prospects in Yukon. The company is expecting to begin the work at Lezai Prospect in Quebec by this summer. It will enable funding for the phase I exploration at these three prospects.
