Duncastle Gold has completed the 2011 initial drill program at its Porphyry Creek project, which is situated 30 km northwest of Smithers, in northwest British Columbia.
The company has planned for 2,400 m drill program and drilled approximately 2,583 m, totaling six holes at the Sultana mine area on the huge 135 km2 property’s eastern side. It has drilled five holes at the south, west and southwest of the holes identified in 2010 wherein all three drill holes were mineralized by the entire length with molybdenite and chalcopyrite, which contained 0.055% copper over 441 m in average and 0.20% copper over last 30 m in the hole PC10-01. Duncastle has drilled the sixth hole to the northwest from a pad to examine the peak electromagnetic conductor in the Sultana region.
Duncastle is waiting for assay results and will plan for further drilling later. It is currently scheduling to conduct geochemical survey programs and reconnaissance ground geological work at the west side of the claim group. The company has also planned for potential ground geophysics and drilling at these target areas in the summer very soon.
More than 20 porphyry discoveries are located in this area that contain Galore Creek, Huckleberry, Bell, Mt Milligan and Berg and other types of deposits. The Porphyry Creek claims comprise significant historic works, several showings of silver, gold and polymetallic around 10 km long magnetic high with zinc, copper and lead geochemical anomalies that is exposed in the government information and Duncastle's work.
