Argentex Mining has announced further drilling results from its newly completed 2011 exploration program at the Pinguino project. This project is situated in the Santa Cruz province of Argentina.
This drilling program includes 206 holes, totaling 19,800 m. so far, Argentex has reported the results of 82 holes out of 206, totaling 7,167 m and around 60% of the holes are yet to be processed.
The President of the company has stated that the results of the drilling from the initial testing of the Ivonne vein, which is 2,300 m long, contains numerous high-grade gold in the near surface and an intersection under a depth of 250 m. These drilling results confirm an excellent uniformity of gold mineralization from the surface to the depth, by means of core and RC analysis. The company has cut 7.74 g/t gold and 63.5 g/t silver over 1.60 m at the deepest intersection. This strong gold mineralization from this moderately unknown vein confirms the excellent precious metal mineralization potential at the Pinguino project.
The Ivonne layer lies analogous to the Marta Centro-Marta Sur veins group approximately, and signifies a model of the high temperature, high-grade gold veins that are also enclosed in the district scale vein group at the Pinguino project.
