Guinness Exploration has proclaimed that its partner Ansell Capital has commenced the summer drilling program at the Charlotte project in the Mount Nansen area, Yukon.
Ansell has completed the drilling of eight holes, totaling 1276 m at the Flex zone. The program is scheduled to drill a minimum of 3500 m. The depth of the hole ranges from 91 m to 350 m.
This drilling program comprises four down dip expansion holes and four infill and confirmation holes to be drilled at the Flex zone. Further drilling programs will examine the zone for strike extensions of gold and silver mineralization, which were formerly identified. The company has intercepted the mineralized zone successfully and conducted associated alteration in all the holes. The collected samples have been sent for assaying and the assay results will be reported when the data is accumulated and interpreted.
The additional zones that are to be drill tested contain historical high-grade drill cut offs in the Webber zone and anomalous gold, silver and copper values in trenches that traverse the OK zone.
The company has postponed the proposed soil sampling and trenching at other zones on the property till late July due to an unusual late spring defrost.
The CEO of Guinness has stated that the Charlotte project is progressing and Guinness is working with Ansell for the project development. It has raised the required capital to fund the exploration program.
